Dale's Birthday at the Topeka Zoo

April 27, 2008 Jill and I took Dale to Topeka's Gage Park. At the park we strolled through the Topeka Zoological Park, rode the Gage Park "mini" train, enjoyed a ride on the restored antique American made Carousel in the Park and stopped to smell the flowers in Doran Rock Garden. We even posed in the Wizard of OZ cut-outs. We all had such a fun day. These are some of the layouts that I have finished of our trip. I will be adding more as I complete them.

RIBBON HOLDER CARD

I saw this idea on one of the Cricut forums and decided it would be easy to make with DS. I made 2 different sizes. (2" & 3") There is a website that shows how to store ribbon on these cards with a book ring. This is how it was done on http://www.shop.ribbonring.com/main.sc

Autumn Morning

I took this on 9/5/08 at 6:30 AM. It was taken just north of Carbondale, KS. It is just one of those brief moments that you never get back. Now I have it forever! The sunrise was so colorful and the fog just made the photo something special.

I've been a busy girl these last couple of days

I have gotten into a designing frenzy. I'm not sure where it comes from or where it goes when it leaves, but it's sure nice when it's here. Now if only I could get into a house cleaning frenzy!!

HAHAHA!!! Not a chance that's going to happen. I may get a bit done tomorrow. There's always tomorrow.

Check out my great clearance find from WM. It fits my bug perfectly. It even has an outside pocket for whatever I want to put there. And yes, it's a pet carrier. Seems appropriate for my "pet" bug.

BUTTERFLY LACE

ChrisVicente posted a wonderful site on the Cricut MB. This card was inspired by something I saw on that site.

DESIGN STUDIO STICK GIRL

I have 2 version of the stick girl. This one is all Geo. This one is Geo and HA. This file has been edited to add the boy to another page. They show on the same page for the preview, but are on seperate pages. Also have the all Geo version boy on a third page of this file. No screen shot of that one.

SOME DESIGN STUDIO BORDER FILES

I got some designing done yesterday and here are the results. The first is my version of a popular border punch and the second is my attempt at a realistic looking icicle border. Download the files if you wish, but please post photos of your projects on the Cricut MB or just send me a photo so I can see what you do with the file. I really love to see what other do with my designs. I have two versions of the "drippy" file. One is shorter than the other. Version 1 Version 2 Here's the "icicle" file. I'll be back later to add a "stick" girl and boy.

Our 1st Community Crop

I've been wanting to get some of the local ladies together to scrapbook. We have a wonderful community center and the rent is reasonable. So for a small fee we can all get together and scrapbook for a few hours. We are going to make this a monthly event. Our first one was last night and we had 9 ladies and one young girl. Not bad for the first one, I think. We all live in small rural communities and had ladies from 4 different towns. I hope this continues to grow with lots more ladies in attendance. Now I think we need to come up with a name for our group.

The ICEMAN Cometh

This is Pat & Kat building a snowman together last winter, 2008. We were snowed in and they got bored. Kat really wanted to play in the snow, but it took some convincing to get Pat to play with her. The snowman lasted for about two weeks. I took progressive shots of his "aging" process. Don't tell anyone, but I think Pat enjoyed building the snowman! I love the title and the subtitle is...and the sun taketh.

Grand Tetons and Yellowstone July 2008

Morning at the Tetons

Our trip to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons was spectacular. We spent four glorious days traveling through both parks. We had never been before and this was so incredible. From the geysers, oh what a fun story we have about that, to mud volcanoes, rock formations, mountain meadows covered in flowers, mountains, lakes, waterfalls, Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, bison, bears, elk, and all the other critters. But not the elusive moose, no we did not see him.

Braving a New Frontier!!!

Okay, I finally jumped on the band wagon and created my own blog page. Please be kind. It may be a slow process, but at least I'm getting started. I know I will be tweaking it on a regular basis. I just want a place to be able to share my scrapbook and card making projects with others. I also want to be able to share events and photos with family and friends.
