SMALL FAVOR BASKET

I've made a small basket for Easter. After completing the basket, I realized it would work great for a May basket, bridal or baby shower or any time a small favor "box" might be needed. It is made with George & AE. The only part that cuts with AE is the scoreline for the bottom, so if you don't have this cart you can just do that scoring by hand. One 6 x 6" piece of card stock is needed for the basket. The handle is a 1/2" strip about 9" long(I got this from my scrap pieces). This can be adjusted to suit your taste. To assemble, fold the tabs in (I always score first) and glue in place (quick drying glue works best). There are slots on two sides to weave the handle through. It will stay in place, but I put a small glue dot to be sure. I added some ribbon on the handle and some flowers with bling.

I created this file for dazzlindiamond. She was doing a 50's theme party & wanted records, juke box & etc. This was a quick easy one to put together. I used all George. The "grooves" are cut on a light setting, so it just scores them.

Paisley

CURLYKATE is looking for a paisley cut file for the baby bug. Here it is and it's all George. I love paisley, so this one was fun to work on. GOTTA LOVE THOSE 70'S!!

3D CUPCAKE BOX

Okay here is the long awaited tutorial on making the cupcake box. This box is large enough to hold a cupcake, although, I would wrap it in some sort of clear wrap to keep icing from bleeding into the paper. I used GBS & PSB. It is made in three pieces, but the original photo only shows the two main pieces. I used a prima instead of the "cherry" from the file. Here it is photographed on a tea cup saucer. You will need 6 x 6" printed card stock for the "wrapper" and 12 x 12" solid for the icing and cupcake. The topper is a 3 x 3" piece of red, it's the cherry. 1. Cut the cupcake from the 12 x 12" card stock. I used a lighter weight and it works great. You may have to complete the cut on one of the long ends. It gets "tucked" in, so it's okay if it's not perfect. 2. DO NOT REMOVE THE PAPER FROM THE MAT. Reload the paper and select the scorelines tab. I used a setting of 2 on pressure and 2 on blade depth for this one. Now you should have a piece that looks like this, although, I have already cut & folded this one. 3. Now you have to make the necessary cuts and folds. Here are the cut & fold lines. Cut is done in red and folds are done in purple. Click on the photo for a larger view. 4. Apply quick drying glue or adhesive to the inside of the tabs. They will glue to the outside of the bottom as shown here. To line up you will have to tuck part of the top inside. I also tried to show this in the photo. Do this all the way around and it should look like this. 5. Creating the top of the cupcake is not hard, but requires you to hold the pieces in place as you go around. Start by folding one section down. Then working in a counter clockwise direction bring the next one down on top and line up the notches. Continue with the third and when you do the fourth the long tab should tuck in nicely and hold. Finish up the other two. The last one you will have to tuck the side in under the first one, as well. Here is a series of photos that show how to tuck them in. Yeah!!! You have just completed the hardest part!!!! It should look like this now. 6. Now lets cut the wrapper. Again, DO NOT REMOVE THE PAPER! Reload and cut the scorelines. Here is what it will look like, but mine is cut & folded already. 7. Time to cut & fold. This is done much the same as above. Here are the cut & fold lines. 8. This time we are going to glue the tabs on the inside, so apply adhesive to the outside of the tabs. Glue each tab around. When you are finished it should look like this on the outside. THAT'S IT!!! YOU CAN DECORATE WITH STICKLES, BLING OR ANYTHING YOU MIGHT LIKE. THERE IS ALSO A "CHERRY" FOR THE TOP IN THE FILE. I JUST CUT THE "CHERRY" TO DEMONSTRATE HOW TO FOLD IT. I, HOWEVER, HAVE NOT FIGURED OUT THE FOLDING OF THE "CHERRY". So, the file is there if you can figure out how to fold it correctly. Be sure that you only glue your decoration to one section on the top of the cupcake if you want the cupcake to open up. Plese leave feedback on this tutorial. BEST NEWS EVER!!!

Jim & I got a package in the mail today. Neither of us new what it was, but it felt like t-shirts. Well we walked into the house and I let Jim open it, as he sometimes whines because he "never gets any packages". Out fell two rolled up t-shirts. Then a receipt fell out, which Jim picked up to look at. The next thing he said was "O My Gosh" I think you better look at your shirt. He unrolled one and it happened to be mine and what a thrill it was. Anyone who knows us, knows that we are extremely excited. What do you think of our new shirts? I talked for about 3 hrs. with Kat before we checked the mail and she didn't say a thing. All is forgiven, but she was so ornery about this whole issue as we talked. Anyone who knows her, knows it was "KILLING" her to not say anything. Then we talked a bit with Kat again and called Pat and talked to him. Our next visit was to wear our new shirts over to Mom & Dad's to share the news with them.

So...I just wanted to share our good news with the rest of the world. This is our first time!!! We are going to be GRANDPARENTS!

SLIDE (PULL OUT) CARD

Here is a card I designed this. As the name indicates you pull on each side to reveal the inside of the card. I used SB & GBS for this one. The scalloped oval is the only thing from SB and can be replaced with any shape or design you would like. I have a 2nd smaller oval on the "front" page that I used to "layer" with. It is not needed, but I like it. Assembly Instructions 1. There are five pieces used in the sliding card. 2. We will be creating a sandwich starting with the "bottom". 3. Next you need to apply quick drying glue or adhesive runner and line up the "stop" with the "bottom". 4. Now line this "bottom" assembled piece with the top and being careful to keep them lined up, cut down the center so that all pieces are the split in half. MAKE SURE TO REMOVE THE CENTER SHAPE, DO NOT CUT IT!!! These can be cut separately, if you wish. I found it easier to do all at once so that I got them exact. 5. Lay the "inside" piece in the center of the "bottom" piece. DO NOT GLUE!!! It may be easier to embellish before adding this piece to the inside. Repeat for both sides. 6. Apply glue to the edges of the underneath of the "top" pieces along the top, outside and bottom. DO NOT GLUE THE CENTER!!! 7. Add the "cutout" center shape in the opening and finish embellishing.

SEASHORE BORDER

Okay, it's here finally!! The much desired seashore border, complete with 2 versions. One with PDDU & OOW, the other with PDDU & GBS.

NEW BORDERS

I've done some new borders. Dino borders is made with GBS & PDDU. The actual "dino" portion is resizable, but you would have to adjust the "base". Also, if you don't have GBS, you could easily switch with another rectangle from another cart, as that is all that is on GBS. The torn edge is also made from PDDU and is resizable.

POP UP BALL

CAUTION...SOME ASSEMBLY REQUIRED!!! This pop up ball is made with GBS, AE and PF. The pooh font could be switched with another font. I like this one because it is "chunky". It's cut in two pieces, glued around center line and held inside by a rubber band. You can close it in a card or on a scrapbook page and when it's opened, it will "pop" up. My plan is to attach the bottom with a brad so that it also turns. There are twelve sides to add photos or embellishments to, along with the top. This will be a lot of fun to embellish. There was some trial and error with this one. So....I have two sizes. The first was too big for a card or scrapbook, so I made a second and a third. Third time was a charm! You will need to score and fold to assemble. This screen shot shows the scorelines in red. They do not cut on your cricut. Use a good quality, heavy card stock. Next cut them out with your cricut & DS. The small one can be cut on the baby bug, jsut be sure to switch the mat size on your screen. It will probably me easier to embellish before assembly. To assemble glue the tabs with the "hooks" together making sure that the hooks face in opposite directions. DO NOT GLUE THE HOOKS!!! Now the fun part. You will need to put a rubber band on the hooks and stretch it to the other side and repeat. It requires threading the rubber band so that it is caught in both hooks on each side (which is why you can't glue the hooks). Then glue other tabs together leaving two sides open. Check to see if the ball is going to "pop" and hold it's shape. This may take a few tries to get the right length of rubber band. When everything is working right continue by gluing the remaining tabs together. Here is a photo of the ones I made with no embellishments on them. Sizes are: large...about 7 1/2" across x 5" tall small...about 4" across x 2 1/4" tall

OH BABY STEP CARD

I have been working on this card since LilGreenBug posted a request a few days ago. Capadia has already designed one, or in her case, several. This is my version. It is all George for the open version and George & PS for the closed version, as pictured. My file makes a 4" x 5 1/2" card and it is resizable. You can load any "designs" you would like into the open spaces, but you do have to remember to check the weld box for each one. I chose to put the letters B A B Y, from Pooh Font, into my spaces and like the look with the bar across the top and bottom, closed version. Do make sure when you weld shapes into the spaces that you only weld on the two sides, DO NOT WELD THE SHAPES ON THE TOP OR BOTTOM. By making this resizable it will be great for small gift cards or to add to a scrapbook page.

This file is done in all George. I have not cut it, as it was requested by MElody on the Cricut MB. It can only be cut on a 12 x 12 mat or larger.

I can not believe that I have that many posts. I didn't even put a counter on for the first 3 weeks or so. This is such fun, but I think I need to do more updating. Here's a smiple umbrella design. I used HA, GBS and CC. It could easily become a beach umbrella by exchanging the handle with a post.

BASSINET BABY SHOWER FAVOR

I made this bassinet using George. The base is 2 x 3. It will hold some small candies, but it does rock when you put them in. You can apply the rockers so they are even with the base and then they won't rock. I like the rocking, but not sure it would be practical to use this way.

VALENTINE HEARTS & BORDERS

I've been working on borders for Valentines. When I read about the new scallop heart punch by Martha Stewart that's designed "not" to cut completely, I decided to do a scallop eyelet heart of my own. The scallop/eyelet portion is resizable, but you will have to resize the inner hearts, as I could not combine them to be resizable with the scallops. There are three borders in this file also. WHIMSICAL BIRTHDAY CAKE

Here's a file I designed today for teeseluvs2scrap. I used GBS & PDDU. I've included many layers so each layer can be cut seperately with or without a design on it. I'M NO LONGER TETHERED!!!

My Cricut, Design Studio and I are now all portable. I can take DS anywhere I want to take it. My DH & DS got me a laptop(and it's cricut green)for Christmas and today I loaded DS and made my 1st cut. I'm so excited!!! After reading all the MB threads about not being able to put DS on more than one computer, I just wasn't sure if it was going to work. I really wanted to do this so I won't have to go up 2 flights of stairs from my scrap room to the computer. I want to do some catching up on my own scrap books right now and I think this will help me get it done. It's been awhile since my last post. I got very busy making Christmas cards and getting ready for the holidays. My oldest son and DIL stayed with us for 12 days, so I stayed pretty busy with them. Now I'm ready to get scrapping!!!

It is cut in two pieces. You can either cut two of the "shape" or cut a circle and one shape. I used GBS & HA.

MOD CHRISTMAS TREE FARM

One of the comments from my Christmas Tree Farm file asked if I could do a "mod" version with triangles. I did it immediately and tried to contact the person "Shelia" on her blog but got no response. I now can not access her blog, so I'll just post here for everyone to enjoy.
